I think this post perfectly complements the snow from last night. Yes, for those of you bums that were studying last night instead of being out and about, it started snowing around 9 pm last night. I know this since I was sitting in Starbucks with my friend Priya, sipping hot chocolate and listening to Christmas songs but for some reason feeling at odds with all the merriment. I just wasn’t feeling it.
But then I looked outside through the huge glass windows of Starbucks and started taking in the way the snow whirled effortlessly around everything–the lamposts, scurrying New Yorkers, darting cabs–and suddenly I felt that quick rush of warm, goopygushiness that the holidays are all about. Friends, family, warmth from the cold, hot chocolate, Christmas songs…
I love how Kate’s look perfectly embodies the spirit of the holidays. That feeling of comfort, warmth, fun, excitement, and–of course–red and green. Kudos to Kate for remember that fashion can be fun and sometimes a bit silly (I don’t think I could ever pull that hat off and look this cute).
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to finish my mint hot chocolate before it gets cold.
